Becky Halls: Searchable Alternative? Which one fits a small business?
Looking into a Searchable alternative?? Searchable is a London-built software platform that tracks how brands show up inside ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google’s AI answers, priced in US dollars from $50 a month and sold on how many “prompts” you want to track. I’m Becky, I’m one person in Nottingham, and I do the work for you: Google profile, listings, reviews, posts, website, plus the AI checks. £599 once, then £29 or £99 a month, in pounds, published on my site.
They’re good at what they do. It’s just aimed at a completely different customer to mine.

What Searchable actually is
Searchable Limited launched in November 2025 out of an office on Tanner Street in London. The founders have proper pedigree: Chris Donnelly scaled Verb Brands to an 8-figure exit and co-founded Lottie, and the other two came out of Y Combinator. They’ve hired Shaun Anderson from Hobo Web as a special advisor, and he’s one of the sharpest SEO people in the UK. So this isn’t some thrown-together dashboard.
The product does four things. It watches whether AI engines mention you, it correlates that with your analytics, it helps you produce content aimed at getting picked up, and it audits your site for technical blockers. Marketing teams love this stuff, and rightly so.
But notice what’s in that list and what isn’t. It tells you how you’re doing. It doesn’t run your Google Business Profile, it doesn’t fix your address on Apple Maps, it doesn’t answer your reviews, and it doesn’t fix anything that needs fixing!
The Searchable alternative
I’m the person who does the fixing. For a business in Nottingham, Newark, Lincoln or anywhere across the UK, I rebuild and run your Google Business Profile, correct your listings on Bing, Apple Maps and the directories, post to your profile every week, write you a monthly blog, answer every review, and check what ChatGPT and Gemini say when someone in your town searches for your trade. Screenshots each month so you can see it for yourself.
I’ll fix your website issues too, from £399, with the schema and llms.txt baked in so the machines can actually read your prices and services.

The prompt thing is what catches people out
Searchable’s pricing is built around prompts, meaning the number of questions it fires at the AI engines on your behalf. Starter gets you 50. That sounds like plenty until you realise a marketing team burns through those on one product line.
For a mobile hairdresser in Nottingham, though, there are maybe 6 questions that matter. “Hairdresser near me.” “Mobile hairdresser Nottingham.” “Best hairdresser Nottingham.” You don’t need 50 prompts and a share-of-voice chart. You need your Google profile to actually be right, your reviews answered, and your prices published where a machine can read them. That’s the work that moves the answer, and no dashboard does it for you.
Reviewers have also flagged that the headline price covers ChatGPT and Google, with other engines like Claude, Grok and Gemini added on top. Worth checking before you sign up, because it changes the maths.
“I’ve got a lot of time for what Searchable is building, and I read Shaun Anderson’s stuff religiously. But a tracking platform hands you a number. Somebody still has to go and fix the thing the number is telling you about. For a village café or a one-van plumber, that somebody needs to be a human being who’ll just get on with it.” – Me (Becky Halls)
Fair questions to ask
Is Searchable a bad product? Not remotely. If you’ve got a marketing team, multiple domains and budget to act on what you find, it’s a serious tool and I’d point you at it happily.
Who’s cheaper? Mine, for a single local business, and it’s not close once you’ve added the engines you want. But we’re selling different things, so cheaper isn’t quite the right question.
Do they do local SEO? No. There’s no Google Business Profile management, no listings work, no review replies. Those are the three things that actually decide whether a local business gets recommended, and they’re all on my side of the table.
Could I use both? In theory, yes. In practice, if you’re one business in one town, you’d be paying twice to watch the same handful of questions. I think your money’s better spent on the fixing.
They’ve got Y Combinator founders and you’ve got a laptop in Nottinghamshire. Fair. And if you’re a DTC brand doing seven figures, go with them. If you’re the tattoo studio on the high street, the pedigree of the founders won’t get your opening hours right on Apple Maps. I will.
Where I’d start
Got a marketing team and a growth budget? Searchable’s worth a trial. One local business who just wants the phone to ring and wants a Searchable alternative? That’s me, and you can see exactly what it costs before you ever get in touch.
Free visibility check first, either way. Two minutes to ask for, and useful whether you hire me or not.
