Becky Halls vs seomarketingnottinghamshire.co.uk: which one’s actually local?
If you’ve searched SEO marketing Nottinghamshire and landed on seomarketingnottinghamshire.co.uk, here’s what sits behind it: a digital marketing agency called Altitude Internet, doing mostly SEO, Google Ads and landing page design, priced on a “get a quote” basis. Altitude’s actual office is in Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire, over 130 miles from Nottingham. I’m Becky, I live in Whatton-in-the-Vale, in the Vale of Belvoir (Nottinghamshire), and I work with local businesses across Nottinghamshire and Lincolnshire. If you’re after a local alternative, that’s me.
What’s actually behind the SEO marketing Nottinghamshire domain
I had a proper look. The site’s nicely built, decent reviews, and it does what it says: SEO, Google Ads management, landing pages. But the company running it, Altitude Internet Limited, has its registered office at Thremhall Park in Hertfordshire. They’ve clearly bought (or built) a domain with “Nottinghamshire” in the name to rank for people searching exactly that phrase. It’s a common tactic in this industry. It doesn’t make the work bad, but it does mean you’re not hiring someone down the road, you’re hiring a national agency that’s picked your county’s name for a web address.
There’s no pricing on the page either, just a form and a phone number starting 01279 – That’s the Bishop’s Stortford dialling code… not an 0115 Nottingham one.

The local alternative: what I offer instead
I’m not a national agency with a portfolio of county-named domains. I’m one person, based in the Vale of Belvoir, working with businesses in Nottingham, Lincoln, Radcliffe on Trent, Grantham, Newark and the towns and villages around them. Your Google Business Profile, your website, your listings on Bing and Apple Maps, your reviews, and how you show up when someone asks ChatGPT for a recommendation nearby. All published pricing, all on my site, no quote form to fill in first.

Why “local” is worth checking, not just believing
Recent research puts the share of Google searches with local intent at somewhere around 46 to 51 percent, so basically half of everything typed into Google is someone looking for something nearby. That’s the whole game for a business like a cafe, a salon or a trade. Who’s actually managing that for you, and whether they know your patch or just your postcode from a spreadsheet, genuinely matters.
“I’m not precious about people looking around before they hire me. I’d just rather they knew what they were actually buying. A domain with ‘Nottinghamshire’ in it doesn’t tell you where the person doing the work sits, or whether they’ve ever dined in the Castle Quarter of Nottingham.” – Becky Halls
Fair questions to ask
Is Altitude Internet a bad choice? Not from what I can see, their reviews look genuine and they’re an established agency. They’re just not a local Nottinghamshire operation, whatever the domain name suggests.
Does it matter if the person doing my SEO isn’t actually local? Depends what you value. For Google Ads and general SEO, probably not hugely. For Google Business Profile work, local listings and knowing which villages and towns your customers search from, it helps a lot.
Who’s cheaper? Hard to say for certain since Altitude don’t publish pricing. Mine’s fixed and published: £599 to set everything up, then £99 a month. If you just want me watching it, that’s £29 a month.
Do they offer AI visibility, like checking ChatGPT? Not that I could find on their site. That’s a growing part of what I check for my clients.
Where I’d start
If you want a bigger agency handling Google Ads spend alongside SEO, and you don’t mind that they’re not based anywhere near Nottinghamshire, Altitude might suit you. If you want someone local, doing the work themselves, with pricing you can see before you even pick up the phone, that’s me.
Free visibility check, two minutes to ask for, and genuinely useful whether you hire me or not.
