Becky Halls vs Reputation.com: which one actually fits a small local business?
Quick answer: Reputation.com is a big American software platform for managing reviews, listings and customer feedback, priced per location per month, and you only get a price by booking a call with their sales team. Their cheapest plan, Rep Core, is $80 per location per month, and it’s really built for large multi-location brands. I’m Becky, I’m one person in Whatton-in-the-Vale, and I do the work for you, for one flat fee in pounds that’s published right there on my site. So they’re not really rivals. We’re built for completely different customers.
Someone asked me how I stack up against them, so let’s be fair and clear about it.
What Reputation.com actually is
It’s a serious, well-regarded platform, and I’m not going to pretend otherwise. Their tools cover reviews, business listings, surveys, social and analytics, and their customers are the likes of national property groups and car dealership chains with dozens or hundreds of sites. That’s who it’s designed for.
But a few things are worth knowing before a small business gets tempted. The pricing is per location, per month, in US dollars. Rep Core is $80, Rep Core plus Pulse is $115, and the survey tier is $150, all per location per month, and the top “Enterprise” tier is aimed at businesses with 125 or more locations. There’s no price you can just see and sign up to. Every plan says “talk to sales.” And crucially, it’s software you drive yourself. Their AI helps you respond to reviews, but if you want an actual person doing the work, that’s their Managed Services, which costs extra on top.
Oh, and it doesn’t build or look after your website at all. That’s simply not what it’s for.

What I do instead
I’m not a software platform you log into and operate. I’m the person who does it. For a business in Bingham, Bottesford, Radcliffe on Trent or anywhere for that matter, I set up and run your Google Business Profile, keep your listings right on Bing and Apple Maps, post to your Google profile every week, write you a monthly blog, answer your reviews, and check how you show up when someone asks ChatGPT or another AI for a recommendation nearby. I can build your website too. One flat fee, in pounds, published, no sales call to get a number.

Why the “per location” bit matters more than it looks
Here’s the thing that catches people out. $80 a month sounds fine until you remember it’s per location and in dollars, and that to actually get someone doing the work rather than just software to do it yourself, you’re adding their Managed Services on top. For a single café or salon that just wants to be found and doesn’t have a marketing person to drive a platform, that’s a lot of tool for not much use. You’d be buying a juggernaut to pop to the shops.
My whole thing is the opposite. Small, local, done for you, and priced so a one-van trade or a village shop in Aslockton or Orston can actually say yes without a meeting.
“I’ve got real respect for what a platform like Reputation.com does at the big end of town. It’s just not built for the corner shop or the mobile hairdresser. Those are exactly the people I’m here for, and I think they deserve someone who’ll just do the work, not hand them software and a login.” – Becky Halls
Fair questions to ask
Is Reputation.com a bad product? Not at all. For a large brand juggling lots of locations and a team to run it, it’s genuinely powerful. It’s just aimed miles above a typical small local business.
Who’s cheaper? Hard to compare cleanly, because theirs is per location in dollars and mine’s a flat fee in pounds. But for one small business wanting the work actually done, I’ll almost always work out simpler and cheaper, and you can see my prices without a phone call.
Do they build websites? No. They’re a reputation and listings platform. I can build and look after your website as well as the rest, which for a lot of small businesses is the bit they need most.
I only have one shop. Should I even look at them? Honestly, probably not. Their model and pricing are built around many locations. One independent business is much more my patch than theirs.
Where I’d start
If you’re a growing chain with lots of sites and a marketing team to run a platform, Reputation.com is worth a look. If you’re one local business around Nottinghamshire or Lincolnshire who just wants to be found and would rather someone did it for you, that’s me, and you can see exactly what it costs before you ever get in touch.
Free visibility check first, either way. Two minutes to ask for, and useful whether you hire me or not.
